Restorative Justice Processes

“Restorative Justice” is a different way of viewing justice that emphasizes repairing harm caused by conflict and crime. These processes view crime as a violation of people, relationships, and the peace of the community. People who are impacted by the crime have a forum to ask questions, receive answers, gain understanding, explain the impact of the crime on them, and contribute to the outcome of the process.

The Dayton Mediation Center offers three Restorative Justice processes: victim-offender mediation, community impact panels, and family group conferencing.
