The Elder Care Mediation Program provides mediation services to elders over the age of 60 and/or their family and caregivers. The program was designed to address a wide range of issues that concern elders in the city of Dayton.
The Center provides a range of services within its elder care mediation program. First and foremost are mediation services. Typical disputes that are appropriate for mediation are: neighbor problems, landlord-tenant, consumer-business, foreclosure, and family issues. In addition to mediation, the City of Dayton Mediation Center also conducts Family Group Conferences and/or Family Planning Sessions. A Family Group Conference or Family Planning Session is a means for a family to have a discussion about important issues concerning elder care. The Elder Care Mediation Program promotes mediation processes and models that are innovative practices in the field of elder care.
