DAYTON (WDTN) - Bullying is a big problem for kids today, because there's no escaping the harassment. It happens at school and then when they go home, it occurs online. "No one wants to get picked on," said Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer. "If it is a constant getting picked on, where do you turn? What do you do?" Those questions prompted Sheriff Phil Plummer to find a way to use technology to fight back. Earlier this week, his office unveiled a new web tool. It is a form that bullying victims fill out and submit. Someone at the Sheriff's Office then reads the report and investigates. "It's just another avenue for them, another way they can try to get help," said Plummer. "I'm not sure we can solve all their problems, but we will certainly get involved and get a list of resources that may help. We might have the mediation center come in with the parties. There's always a problem so if we can find out what it is, maybe we can help out". Sheriff Plummer said he still encourages victims to seek help from parents and teachers. If the problem is not solved or ignored, then the online report form is a good next step. Here is a link to the website: http://www.mcohio.org/sheriff/anti_bullying.cfm
